Set along the waterfront of The Med by People & Places, The Gray Cabanas explores a landscape language that moves beyond the conventional idea of Mediterranean sustainability. Rather than simply selecting low maintenance planting, the design looks at longevity, resilience, and identity as fundamental to the landscape, creating an environment that can mature gracefully over time while developing its own distinctive character. Planting, materials, and spatial composition are carefully considered to respond to the coastal setting and complement the architectural language of the cabanas.
The landscape is conceived as an extension of the architecture, gradually transitioning from the built environment into a lush waterfront promenade. A layered palette of planting frames views, defines movement, and creates moments of discovery as visitors are naturally drawn towards the sea. The promenade becomes more than a route to the waterfront; it forms an experience in itself, where architecture, landscape, and the Mediterranean setting come together to create a place that is immersive, memorable, and designed to endure.
